Buying Time

Set in the year 2028, “Buying Time” (2024) unfolds in a world where antibiotics have lost their effectiveness. Lifeline, a powerful corporation, has developed a health chip distributed for free by the NHS, though people can opt to purchase an enhanced version that combats a wider range of infections. However, due to limited computing power, each upgrade necessitates the transfer of life energy from another individual, resulting in random deaths across the population. Lifeline is poised to release a second upgrade, supported by a ministerial ally, and is set to amass substantial profits. Daniel Avery, having lost his wife and daughter in these tragic circumstances, is driven by haunting nightmares and flashbacks to investigate. With aid from a group of rebels, he begins to unravel a web of power and greed reaching the highest echelons. Watch it online.
