Carnival Night

As the clock ticks towards midnight on New Year’s Eve, the staff at an Economics Institute are all set for their annual celebration. Their program brims with lively performances, featuring singing, dancing, a jazz band, and even magic shows. However, their festive plans face an unexpected challenge when a new director, Comrade Ogurtsov, is introduced and prepares to review the program. Ogurtsov envisions a different kind of festivity, with lengthy speeches on the Institute’s accomplishments and a touch of classical music by a Veterans’ Orchestra. The employees are reluctant to alter their exciting lineup in favor of this dreary substitute at the eleventh hour. Thus, they band together to thwart Ogurtsov’s attempts to take over the stage. While some staff members manage to sideline Ogurtsov with creative diversions, the rest joyfully execute their original entertainment to usher in the New Year.
