The Crooked Web
Overview
After World War II, ex-soldier Stan opens a drive-in restaurant, where his girlfriend Joanie works as a car hop. Their dream of marriage is on hold due to the restaurant’s lackluster performance. The arrival of Joanie’s scheming brother Frank stirs things up with a get-rich-quick plan. Despite Joanie’s objections, Stan, who can’t resist the allure of gambling, is tempted by the promise of wealth. The Crooked Web (1955) is a captivating tale of ambition and temptation.
