The Metropolitan Opera: The Magic Flute

Experience one of opera’s most cherished masterpieces in its first new staging at the Met in almost two decades. Visionary English director Simon McBurney presents a bold and imaginative interpretation of Mozart’s timeless opera, praised by The Wall Street Journal as “the best production I’ve ever witnessed of Mozart’s opera.” Under the baton of Nathalie Stutzmann, the Met Orchestra performs with its musicians visible to the audience, enhancing interaction with the performers on stage. Making his Met debut, McBurney introduces a cascade of theatrical innovations, blending projections, sound effects, and acrobatic feats to complement the story’s grandeur and emotion. The extraordinary ensemble features soprano Erin Morley as Pamina, tenor Lawrence Brownlee as Tamino, baritone Thomas Oliemans debuting as Papageno, soprano Kathryn Lewek as the Queen of the Night, and bass Stephen Milling as Sarastro.
