False Confessions

Dorante, a young man with limited means, finds employment as a secretary for Araminte, a wealthy widow whom he adores from afar. With the help of the sly valet Dubois, plans are set in motion to make Araminte fall for Dorante. Luc Bondy, inspired by his theatrical production of Marivaux’s comedy at the Odéon, utilizes the entire theater as a unique film set, positioning actors everywhere from the foyer to the kitchens to blur the lines between stage and screen. False Confessions (2017) awaits.
