Jack

At just ten years old, Jack shoulders the immense responsibility of caring for himself and his younger brother, Manuel, a role he carries with pride. Their mother, a single parent, spends her days working and often leaves them to their own devices at night. One unfortunate day, a bathing accident leaves Manuel with burns from boiling water, and Jack is held accountable. Consequently, social services place him in a children’s home where he feels miserably homesick. Finding it unbearable, Jack escapes and makes his way back home, only to discover his mother missing once again. Determined to find her, Jack and Manuel wander the city, sleeping in parks or underground car parks, all while avoiding the police and meeting various adults who either assist them or turn a blind eye to their plight.
