Luther the Geek

As a young child, Luther, nicknamed “The Freak,” witnessed a group of men provoking a geek—a performer who bites off chicken heads and drinks their blood. In the chaotic scene that followed, young Luther bit his lip and discovered his taste for blood. Fast forward about thirty years, and a parole board convenes to decide on Luther’s release, as he has been committing murders in the interim. A naive trainee on the parole board supports his liberation, and Luther is set free, now armed with a unique set of metal teeth. Luther goes on a terrifying spree, “biting off the heads” of many unsuspecting victims until the film’s suspenseful finale. Interestingly, the film is recognized for its minimal dialogue, with long stretches of silence. The audio mostly features Luther’s disturbing clucking sounds, akin to a chicken.
