12 Days of Terror

In the scorching July of 1916, plagued by extreme heat, a polio outbreak, and the backdrop of World War I, New Jersey faced an unexpected menace. Beachgoers were struck with fear as a rogue shark began to prey on humans, marking the beginning of a chilling saga. Over the course of 12 days, starting on July 1st, this unknown shark claimed the lives of four individuals and left a fifth person gravely injured, casting a shadow over the bustling tourist season. Inspired by real events and partly inspiring Peter Benchley’s “Jaws,” this gripping narrative dives deep into the horror that gripped the New Jersey coast.
