1st Night

Adam, a wealthy businessman with a yearning for a more sophisticated life, is inspired by teasing remarks about his seemingly one-dimensional existence as a city dweller enjoying a capitalist’s fantasy. Eager to prove his cultural aspirations, he decides to host an opera performance at his opulent country estate. Convinced that showcasing his vocal talents will silence his critics, Adam also hopes it will impress a female conductor he’s been courting, who conveniently becomes the first member of his opera ensemble. 1st Night (2010) is streaming here.
