A Miser Brothers’ Christmas
Trailer
Overview
A Miser Brothers’ Christmas serves as a follow-up to the beloved 1974 TV classic, The Year Without a Santa Claus. This stop-motion animated special was created by Warner Brothers Television Animation, who hold the rights to the post-1973 Rankin/Bass animated specials, and the Toronto-based Cuppa Coffee Studios. Premiering on December 13, 2008, it featured as part of ABC Family’s 25 Days of Christmas. In this special, Mickey Rooney returned to voice Santa Claus, a role he first inhabited in the 1970 special, Santa Claus is Comin’ to Town, with George S. Irving also reprising his role as Heat Miser. The musical score, mostly composed by William K. Anderson, includes the exception “Snow Miser/Heat Miser,” penned by Maury Laws and Jules Bass for the original 1974 special. Eddie Guzelian, known for Lilo & Stitch 2: Stitch Has a Glitch, crafted the story, while direction was provided by Dave Barton Thomas. Notably, the special received a nomination for the Best Animated Television Production at the 2008 Annie Awards. Watch A Miser Brothers’ Christmas online now.
