A Real Vermeer

In the vibrant art scene of 1920’s Amsterdam, a spirited young artist named Han van Meegeren challenges conventions. Admired by some yet criticized by many for his blend of Rembrandt and Vermeer styles, Han is often dismissed as unoriginal. Determined to prove his critics wrong, he crafts a phony Vermeer masterpiece, successfully presenting it as genuine. Rather than exposing the ruse, he exploits the deception to amass wealth through numerous forgeries, eventually becoming entangled in a web of deceit. His spiraling deception leads him to a precarious situation when Nazi official Hermann Göring arrives at his doorstep, seeking a Vermeer for his exclusive collection.
