A Regular Woman

A Regular Woman (2019) tells the compelling story of Hatun “Aynur” Sürücü, a spirited 23-year-old Turkish woman whose life was tragically cut short by her youngest brother in what became a heart-wrenching honor killing. At just 16, she had been coerced into an abusive arranged marriage with a cousin in Istanbul by her deeply religious family. Seeking freedom, Aynur fled to Berlin, where she became a mother and attempted to forge her own path, only to be seen as a disgraceful burden by her own family.
