In a bid to reach Europe, a young boy of just six and his older sister lay low beside an airplane runway in Cameroon, hoping to find a way aboard. Meanwhile, an environmental activist nearby is faced with the grim scene of a dead elephant, devoid of its tusks, symbolizing the unstoppable menace of poaching. This activist now has more in his path, as he must also navigate the new challenges brought by the arrival of his daughter from Spain. Further north in Melilla, civil guards stand ready, anticipating the fervent rush of sub-Saharan individuals attempting to breach the border fence. These three narratives intertwine, all bound by a shared thread, as the unsuspecting characters’ paths converge, altering their lives forever. Watch Adú (2020) online now.
