Approved for Adoption

This captivating animated documentary explores the unique upbringing of filmmaker Jung Henin, who was among thousands of Korean children adopted by Western families post-Korean War. The narrative follows a boy caught between two distinct cultures. Through animated scenes—some lighthearted, others reflective—we witness Jung’s journey from meeting his new blond siblings to navigating elementary school, and eventually facing the identity challenges of his teenage years, which stir the biases of his adoptive parents.
