April in Autumn

April finds herself back in Toronto after years of globetrotting to support her sister, Sara, in caring for their ailing mother. During her return, she stumbles upon deeply buried family secrets that disrupt the peaceful dynamics at home. Sara, immersed in the study of Erik Satie’s music, forms an unexpected bond with a homeless man named Erik, who has ties to their mother’s past romantic life. Meanwhile, April grapples with indecision over a marriage proposal from Oscar, her boyfriend she met abroad. The narrative reaches its peak on the night before their mother’s birthday dinner, when Oscar makes a surprise visit from Argentina, and Sara’s homeless acquaintance also turns up for the occasion.
