Astro Kid

In the animated adventure “Astro Kid” (2019), a young boy named Willy is left alone on an unfamiliar planet after a catastrophic incident damages their spaceship as it navigates an asteroid field, separating him from his explorer parents. Accompanied only by an endearing robot, Willy must navigate this dusty new world. The film is filled with charming details, like a space toothbrush that cleverly transforms into a knife and a flamethrower, and introduces us to a lovable orange alien reminiscent of Toothless from “How to Train Your Dragon.” Known as “Terra Willy” in its original French version, the story beautifully captures Willy’s journey of adapting to the unique, sometimes dangerous life forms he encounters on the planet.
