Bad River

Set against the backdrop of the beautiful Lake Superior, “Bad River” highlights the relentless struggle of Wisconsin’s indigenous tribe to safeguard the lake for coming generations. It captures the rich history of activism and resistance by the Bad River Band of Lake Superior Chippewa, particularly in their current legal conflict with Enbridge Energy regarding the Line 5 oil pipeline. Despite the pipeline running on 12 miles of their land with outdated easements for over ten years, the Band remains steadfast in their fight, having been in a legal standoff with the Canadian company since 2019.
