Banana Joe

In the charming 1982 film “Banana Joe,” Bud Spencer portrays the titular character, a rugged yet amiable man residing in the serene rainforest village of Amantido. He is surrounded by many children and earns his living by delivering bananas to a river port in South America. Trouble arises when the minions of a local crime lord, Torsillo, arrive in Amantido with plans to start a banana processing plant. True to his character, Joe confronts and expels these unwelcome guests, prompting them to report back to their boss. Torsillo discovers that Banana Joe operates without a license, an opportunity he intends to capitalize on. When Joe makes his next delivery, he finds himself in a pickle as the police inform him of his predicament: obtain a proper license or face the loss of his boat and potential arrest for illegal trade. Unfamiliar with city life, Joe embarks on a journey to acquire this license, stepping into a world vastly different from his rainforest upbringing.
