Beyond the Gaze: Jule Campbell’s Swimsuit Issue

In the 1960s, Jule Campbell broke barriers to turn a faltering sports magazine into a powerhouse: the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue. The documentary delves into Jule’s impressive 32-year leadership, during which she emphasized intellect and elevated supermodels such as Tyra Banks, Christie Brinkley, and Elle Macpherson. By intertwining her journey with the progression of feminism, the film examines the shifting perspectives on beauty, moving from objectification to an embracing of body positivity. With breathtaking visuals and deeply personal interviews with the wise, now-nonagenarian Campbell, we are shown a legacy that continues to motivate.
