Brackenmore

In the small rural village of Brackenmore, a tightly-knit community hides a dark secret. Following the sudden demise of an uncle she never knew about, Kate, portrayed by Sophie Hopkins, is compelled to return to her ancestral home in Southern Ireland. There, she encounters Tom, a mysterious local played by D.J. McGrath, who assists her in reacquainting with her neglected roots and easing her London-induced anxieties. However, as Kate prolongs her stay, she discovers that the peculiar behavior of the self-preserving villagers harbors a more sinister undercurrent, with the secluded family estate concealing an ancient secret. From the gripping car crash that opens the film to its startling conclusion, “Brackenmore (2017)” effortlessly transitions between classic horror and occult intrigue, with cinematographer Justin McCarthy skillfully capturing the growing silent fear as Hopkins unveils the darkness enshrouding Brackenmore.
