Bridge to Terabithia

Jesse Aarons spent his summer training diligently to be the quickest runner at his school, so it’s a huge disappointment for him when Leslie Burke, the new girl, beats him and everyone else in a race. Despite their differences—she’s wealthy while he isn’t, and she’s a city dweller while he’s from the countryside—they form a profound friendship. In their bond, they give life to Terabithia, a fantastical kingdom filled with mythical creatures like monsters, trolls, ogres, and giants, where they reign as king and queen.
