Bullets over Broadway

Set in the bustling world of 1920s New York, this film revolves around the ambitions of young playwright David Shayne. David’s dream project finally gets the green light when producer Julian Marx secures financial backing from gangster Nick Valenti. The deal, however, comes with strings attached: the gangster insists that his girlfriend, the inept actress Olive Neal, plays a psychiatrist. David’s willingness to compromise begins his complete seduction by Broadway, leading him to sideline his devoted girlfriend Ellen. Throughout his journey, he also copes with the eccentricities of a compulsive leading man named Warner Purcell, the demands of the theatrical diva Helen Sinclair, and the interference of Olive’s hitman and bodyguard, Cheech. Ultimately, David faces a crucial dilemma where he must weigh the significance of art against the realities of life. Watch it right here.
