Burlesque

The Burlesque Lounge, once the pinnacle of glitzy performances, is now a shadow of its former glory. As Tess, a former dancer and the theater’s owner, battles various financial and creative obstacles, she struggles to maintain her beloved venue. Meanwhile, troupe members are bogged down by their own issues, and a rich businessman aims to take over, threatening the lounge’s future. Into this scene steps Ali, a young woman from a small Iowa town, whose life is on the cusp of transformation. Hired by Tess as a waitress, Ali leaves her past behind and becomes enchanted by the world of burlesque. Thanks to new friendships with the theater’s staff, she chases her dreams and graces the stage herself. However, Ali’s journey takes a dramatic twist as her powerful voice propels her to become the star of the show. Watch Burlesque (2010) here.
