Can’t Stand Losing You: Surviving the Police

Adapted from the esteemed memoir of legendary guitarist Andy Summers, “Can’t Stand Losing You: Surviving The Police” chronicles Summers’ evolution from his roots in the vibrant psychedelic music scene of the ’60s, where he performed with The Animals, to serendipitous meetings with drummer Stewart Copeland and bassist Sting. These fateful encounters sparked the creation of the iconic new wave group, The Police. As the band soared to incredible heights of fame in the early ’80s, Summers’ lens documented both their meteoric rise and their dramatic breakup. Through a blend of rare archival footage, Summers’ photography, and unique perspectives from his vantage point on stage, “Can’t Stand Losing You” not only revisits history but also captures the anticipation as the band reunites for a worldwide tour in 2007 after two decades apart.
