Cartas da Guerra

In 1971, António Lobo Antunes faces an abrupt change as he is conscripted into the Portuguese Army, assigned as a doctor in one of the most dangerous areas of the Colonial War—Eastern Angola. Far from his loved ones, he pens letters to his wife, all while being surrounded by escalating violence. As António transitions between various military outposts, he develops a deep affection for Africa and gains political awareness.
