Cellmates

Leroy Lowe, a high-ranking member of the Texas Ku Klux Klan, finds his deeply ingrained prejudices challenged when he is sentenced to three years of hard labor on a prison work farm. Determined to reform Leroy, Warden Merville assigns him a cellmate, Emilio, a Hispanic field worker who was jailed for advocating labor rights. Trapped with someone he considers his adversary, Leroy slowly begins to shed his anger and biases, thanks to Emilio’s relentless optimism. The warden’s weekly talks, usually focused on agricultural work and quite tedious, gain new significance for Leroy when a lovely Mexican maid named Madalena starts to clean the office. This triggers an unexpected romance that allows Leroy to envision a life different from the one he was raised to lead. This touching redemption story, “Cellmates (2012),” can be streamed online for free. You can watch it right now on platforms like cineby and 123Movies.
