Christine

Set in Sarasota, Florida, during 1974, the film “Christine” follows a determined 29-year-old news reporter as she strives to make her mark in the competitive world of journalism. Her journey is difficult as the pressures of career aspirations in the 1970s collide with deep-seated personal challenges, including unreciprocated feelings for a coworker and a chaotic home environment, leading to a crisis of identity. As her news station struggles with low ratings, the station manager demands more sensational stories, clashing with Christine’s preference for profound, issue-focused reporting. She is forced to navigate her self-doubt and find a way to meet audience demands while staying true to her ideals. Christine is compelling.
