Christmas for a Dollar

During the Great Depression, the Kamp family faces numerous challenges after the tragic passing of Mrs. Kamp. Young Ruthie anticipates yet another Christmas devoid of gifts and celebrations, as her father is burdened with medical expenses from her brother’s polio treatment. However, a glimmer of hope appears when their father brings home a single dollar, allowing the children to select thoughtful gifts for one another. This small act reveals to the Kamps that the true essence of Christmas lies not in material wealth, but in the spirit of joy, love, and miraculous moments.
