An ambitious young lawyer manages to acquit a man charged with murder, only for a similar crime to occur soon after. The same man seeks his legal expertise once more, and despite the attorney’s strong suspicion of his guilt, he takes up the case, much to the dismay of his friends. The lawyer justifies his decision by reasoning that he can more effectively trap the man by representing him, leading to a tense game of cat and mouse between the two.
