Dear Frankie

Nine-year-old Frankie has been moving from place to place with his single mother Lizzie for as long as he can remember, their latest stop being a coastal town in Scotland. To shield her deaf son from the harsh reality that they’ve been fleeing his father, Lizzie fabricates an ongoing tale that Frankie’s dad is off sailing on the HMS Accra. Every few weeks, she crafts a fictitious letter from Frankie’s father, filled with stories of breathtaking adventures in far-off places. As Frankie monitors the ship’s journey around the world, he realizes it’s set to arrive in his town soon. With the actual HMS Accra docking in just two weeks, Lizzie faces a dilemma: reveal the truth or find a stranger to impersonate Frankie’s father for a single day. Watch Dear Frankie.
