Denmark

Herb’s existence is in shambles. Unable to retain employment, connect with his son, or enjoy peace due to his chatty neighbor, Herb’s daily routine revolves around a diet dominated by cheap beer and mushy peas. Everything seems bleak until he hears a TV news story about how Danish prisoners enjoy superior living conditions, complete with jobs, quality healthcare, serenity, and even high-definition TVs—almost akin to lodging in a hotel. Determined for a better life, Herb leaves his cramped apartment and secretly travels to Denmark by stowing away on a cargo vessel. Upon arrival in a picturesque town, he plans a bank heist but soon befriends a warm-hearted local barmaid and an endearing stray dog that never leaves his side, leading him to question whether prison is truly his only hope for a satisfying life.
