Dillinger and Capone

In the summer of 1934, J. Edgar Hoover and his team garnered attention for allegedly taking down John Dillinger in a barrage of gunfire outside Chicago’s Biograph theater. However, in the narrative spun by the Jon Purdy gangster thriller, it was actually Dillinger’s brother who met that fate. Jump ahead five years and you find mob boss Al Capone, portrayed by F. Murray Abraham, proposing a high-stakes heist to the real Dillinger, played by Martin Sheen—either he loots millions from a hidden vault or faces the murder of his family.
