Escape

Doctors Paul and Kim Jordan, faced with the heartbreak of losing their child, seek a fresh start by leaving their American lives behind to join a medical mission in Thailand. Initially, this seems like the perfect way to escape their grief, but things take a dark turn when Paul is abducted by human traffickers who demand his medical expertise for their injured leader. Amidst the foreign and challenging surroundings, Kim is left to navigate the daunting task of finding her missing husband without any clues about his whereabouts. Meanwhile, Paul is trapped on the gang’s isolated island alongside Malcolm Andrews, an Englishman held hostage for ransom. Their forced companionship leads to intense philosophical debates, as Malcolm’s unwavering faith in God starkly contrasts with Paul’s skepticism. Compounding the dire situation, Paul struggles with the deteriorating health of his patient, realizing the medical task at hand is beyond his capabilities in such rudimentary conditions.
