Fitzcarraldo

Fitzcarraldo is an ambitious dreamer with a grand vision: he wants to bring the enchanting world of opera and the legendary voice of Enrico Caruso to the heart of the South American jungles. Faced with financial limitations, he devises a plan to fund his opera house by tapping into the lucrative rubber industry in the region. He stumbles upon a secluded forest rich in rubber trees, guarded by challenging rapids, where access is possible only via a river beyond a mountainous barrier. Ingeniously, Fitzcarraldo enlists the help of local natives to haul his steamship over the mountain, overcoming seemingly insurmountable odds. Watch “Fitzcarraldo” online here.
