Goats

In the film “Goats” (2012), 15-year-old Ellis Whitman navigates life with a self-centered New Age mother and a distant father, relying instead on a unique mentor—Goat Man, a sage known for his goat-trekking and marijuana cultivation. Ellis decides to swap his desert upbringing for an elite East Coast prep school, leading to unexpected transformations. Despite often being under the influence, Ellis showcases his intelligence by excelling academically and athletically. While he navigates the academic environment with ease, his journey is truly defined by the complex dynamics with the adults around him, which challenge his perceptions of duty and reliability.
