Hail Mary

In this contemporary adaptation of the Virgin birth tale, Mary is portrayed as a spirited student juggling her time between playing basketball and helping out at her father’s gas station. Joseph, on the other hand, is a sincere dropout who earns his living as a taxi driver. The angel Gabriel has the crucial role of convincing Joseph to come to terms with Mary’s miraculous pregnancy, while Mary herself navigates her complex feelings towards divine intervention through periods of meditation, often filled with vivid imagery of natural elements such as the sun, moon, clouds, flowers, and water.
