Isabelle

Isabelle, a celebrated and admired Dutch actress, mysteriously vanishes while on vacation in Belgium. Her abductor, Jeanne Bitor, a bartender and artist plagued by facial disfigurement, is consumed by bitterness toward her own ‘unattractive’ looks and is fixated on the themes of decay and mortality in both animals and humans. Consequently, she captures Isabelle, subjecting her to starvation as she paints the actress through various stages of distress.
