Last Men in Aleppo

Honored with the Grand Jury Documentary prize at the Sundance Film Festival, Syrian director Feras Fayyad’s stunning documentary captures the courageous efforts of the White Helmets, an organization made up of regular individuals who selflessly respond to military strikes to save lives. This gripping film, which embodies the essence of on-the-ground journalism, weaves together intense suspense and unexpected beauty as it delves into the experiences of its three main protagonists — Khaled, Subhi, and Mahmoud. They face immense challenges and a constant conflict: whether to escape or remain and defend their homeland. Last Men in Aleppo (2017) is a powerful narrative.
