Life, Animated

At the tender age of three, Owen Suskind, who was once lively and talkative, suddenly lost his ability to speak, retreating into the isolating world of autism. For nearly four years, the only things that caught Owen’s attention were Disney movies. One transformative day, his father used a puppet of Iago, the witty parrot from *Aladdin*, to communicate and posed the question, “what’s it like to be you?” Astonishingly, Owen answered using lines from the movie. The film, *Life, Animated*, showcases the extraordinary journey of Owen finding language and understanding the world through Disney animation.
