Little Boxes

As summer before sixth grade approaches, Clark finds himself as the biracial newcomer in a predominantly white neighborhood. He quickly realizes that fitting in means conforming to certain stereotypes and struggles with the pressure to appear ‘more black.’ Meanwhile, his urban, intellectual parents, Mack and Gina, grapple with the adjustments required for life in a small town. Although they’re well-versed in handling the complexities of New York City life, the family encounters unexpected trials in their new suburban environment. They soon find themselves on a journey of self-discovery and mutual understanding amidst a very different backdrop.
