Lost on Purpose

Set against the rich backdrop of California’s San Joaquin Valley, this tale centers on Elizabeth James, known as Ms. Liz, who manages a third-generation dairy farm with persistence and a little help from gin. Operating independently from the influential regional co-ops, she employs a group of laid-back ranch hands who prefer extended partying over adult responsibilities. Their indulgence in women, alcohol, and brawls inevitably invites trouble. With the farm struggling financially for the third consecutive year, Ms. Liz catches the unwanted attention of Delbert Furgeson, the ambitious owner of the area’s largest co-op, who is eager to take over her farm. This ignites a fierce conflict, driven by Ms. Liz’s unwavering pride. Alongside her, the narrative is enriched by the carefree lives of the farmhands. Watch Lost on Purpose (2013).
