Maixabel

In the year 2000, Maixabel Lasa faced an unimaginable tragedy when her husband, Juan Maria Jauregi, was murdered by the ETA. Fast forward to eleven years later, she receives an astonishing request from one of the assailants who is imprisoned in Nanclares de la Oca, Araba, after severing ties with the terrorist organization. Though burdened with grief and hesitation, Maixabel decides to meet the individual responsible for ending the life of her beloved partner, with whom she shared her life since she was 16. She believes, as she herself stated, that “everyone deserves a second chance,” in explaining her courageous decision to confront her husband’s killer. You can watch Maixabel (2021) here.
