Memoirs of a Murderer

In 1995, a series of five unusual murder cases shook the nation. The killer had a chilling habit — making close associates of the victim witness the strangling from behind with a rope before letting them go to recount the horrific events to the media. Ito plays the role of Makimura, the detective tasked with solving these serial murders, yet he fails to catch the elusive killer, and his esteemed superior tragically falls victim too. Fast forward 22 years to 2017 when the case is on the brink of reaching its statute of limitations, and a man named Sonezaki steps forward claiming to be the murderer, publishing a provocative book titled “Watashi ga satsujinhan desu” to narrate the gruesome details. Despite widespread revulsion towards Sonezaki, the media frenzy and online chatter propel him into the public spotlight. Check out Memoirs of a Murderer (2017) online.
