Mug

Jacek, a lover of heavy metal and his dog, turns the rural roads near his home into a makeshift racetrack, zipping down them in his small car. On the dancefloor with his girlfriend Dagmara, they become the spotlight as others scatter. In an environment that feels stifling, Jacek thrives as an unconventional outsider, keeping fit by working on a construction site near the Polish-German border, where the world’s largest Jesus statue is being erected. However, his life takes a dramatic turn following a severe workplace accident that leaves him unrecognizably disfigured. With the Polish media closely watching, Jacek becomes the nation’s first face transplant recipient. Though hailed as a hero, he struggles to identify with his new reflection, as the Jesus statue continues to soar skyward. As Jacek’s journey unfolds, the film maintains its broader narrative while zooming in on crucial details. “Mug (2018)” is available to stream.
