Na-neun wang-i-ro-so-i-da

The film explores the transformative three months leading up to Choong-nyung’s rise to power as the future Sejong the Great. This pivotal chapter in the history of the Joseon Dynasty, largely absent from the Annals of the Joseon Dynasty records, unfolds between 1413 and 1418. Regarded as a brilliant ruler who developed the Korean alphabet and made significant strides in science and law, Sejong was not always seen in such a light. Originally perceived as a shy and scholarly prince, Choong-nyung’s destiny shifts dramatically when his father, King Taejong, chooses him to succeed to the throne, having been disappointed by his elder sons, Yangnyeong and Hyoryeong.
