Nise: The Heart of Madness

Following her imprisonment, Dr. Nise da Silveira returns to her job at a psychiatric facility located on the outskirts of Rio de Janeiro. Instead of using the harsh electroshock methods on patients with schizophrenia, she opts for more humane approaches. Despite being mocked by fellow medical professionals, she takes charge of the neglected Sector for Occupational Therapy. It is there that she initiates a groundbreaking transformation through the use of art, animal therapy, and compassion. Watch Nise: The Heart of Madness (2016) streaming online.
