On Fallen Wings

In “On Fallen Wings” (2016), dancer Xiaodie Shang has choreographed a piece called “Butterfly” in honor of a lover who left her five years prior. Her performance’s success earns her an invitation from a foreign cultural fund to stage her choreography in Budapest. There, she believes that the best dancer for the role is Lu Bai, who despite lacking confidence, harbors a personal mission to uncover the truth behind her missing sister at a place known as the butterfly cemetery. Coincidentally, Xiaodie discovers that her ex-lover, Qiushui Zhuang, is now the heir to this cultural fund. As mysteries envelop her—ranging from poisoning incidents to dancer disappearances—Xiaodie finds herself embroiled in a dark enigma, all pointing back to the butterfly cemetery.
