Point and Shoot

Matthew VanDyke, a reserved individual from Baltimore grappling with OCD, might seem an unlikely participant in the front lines of the 2011 Libyan revolution. However, after completing his graduate studies, he departs the U.S. seeking a profound transformation, embarking on an adventure across North Africa and the Middle East on a motorbike. Serving as an embedded journalist in Iraq, he ultimately arrives in Libya, where he forges deep connections with a group of young revolutionaries who profoundly impact him. Committed to their cause, Matthew becomes part of the rebel army opposing Gaddafi, wielding both a weapon and a camera. His journey takes a harrowing turn when he is captured and endures six months of solitary imprisonment. “Point and Shoot (2014)” is available.
