Pride

The film “Pride” is a heartwarming comedy-drama inspired by true events from the summer of 1984, a time when Margaret Thatcher’s reign saw the National Union of Mineworkers (NUM) striking. Amidst this turmoil, during London’s Gay Pride March, a determined group of gay and lesbian activists embarks on a mission to gather funds to aid the miners’ families, only to face hesitation from the union uncomfortable with their support. Unfazed, these activists decide to bypass the union and directly lend a helping hand to the mining community. They focus their efforts on the village of Onllwyn in Wales’ Dulais Valley, journeying there to personally deliver their contributions. This marks the beginning of an incredible tale of unexpected collaboration and enduring unity between two unlikely groups. Watch Pride (2014).
