Pussy Riot: A Punk Prayer

During the winter of 2011, following a disputed election, Vladimir Putin was reinstated as Russia’s president. In reaction to this, hundreds of thousands of citizens across the nation began to question the validity of Putin’s leadership. Leading the charge was a bold group of young, radical-feminist punk rockers, known by the world as Pussy Riot. Donning colorful balaclavas, tights, and summer dresses, they boldly performed their protest anthem, “Mother Mary, Banish Putin!” within the sacred walls of Moscow’s most esteemed cathedral. Consequently, they became the unwitting stars of a “show” trial. Watch “Pussy Riot: A Punk Prayer (2013)” for free right here.
